(3)When Opposites Collide

A DAY BEFORE THE INAUGURATION PARTY....

"The Galitzine's family had thrown a party to celebrate...celebrating the 50th annivvveee.... thersary of the empire, along with the birthday of my late grandfather Mrrrr. Peter Enoch Galitzine and with the opening of a new branch in New York City. Uuuggghhhh....." played Sierra and shook her head when she got it all wrong.

"Great Cici, you were tensed for no reason. You did really great. " Katherine said to her grand-daughter, who was afraid that her stammering problem when she is nervous would cause another insult to their family name.

"No Mimi, I goootttt it alllll wrrrronnngggg....." said Sierra, frustrated, her emotional outburst caught Kathrine off Gaurd but she maintained her calm. She put a comforting hand on Sierra's head conveying her strength silently to the poor struggling girl.

"You will rock it in front of the media." Katherine tried to encourage Sierra supporting her and providing her with much needed calmness.

"No, Mimi youuuuu knnnnowww that IIIII..... getttt nerrrrvoussss so easilyyyy....y. I will mess up again and the wholeeee businnnnesssss world will laugh..hhh at uuuuus. I am looooosssserrrr Mimi." rambled Cici.

She often felt like the world was far too loud for someone as quiet as her. Crowds, unfamiliar faces, and curious eyes made her heart race in a way she couldn’t control. Words that flowed easily in her mind would suddenly stumble when she tried to speak them aloud, breaking into hesitant pieces as nervousness wrapped around her throat. Every pause, every stammer made her cheeks warm with embarrassment, and she would lower her gaze, wishing she could disappear into the background where no one expected her to say anything at all.

Yet inside her, there was a gentle world full of thoughts she wished she could share. She understood things deeply, felt emotions strongly, and cared more than people realized. But fear stood like a wall between her heart and the outside world. So she often stayed quiet, speaking only when necessary, hoping that one day she might gather the courage to let her voice flow freely—without the nervous tremble that always seemed to follow her.

"It's okay baby, we all have our share of insecurities, but letting our insecurities win over our self confidence means we are not even trying to defeat it." Katherine said while placing a loving hand on Sierra's head.

"Butttt.... Mimi....." sobbed Sierra.

"We all have our share of weakness. That's why God made us in pairs to complete the things we lack, like me and Peter. I used to be strict and disciplined, but he used to be a laid back nature." Katherine said while reminecing her good times with her late husband.

"Mimi, Pleassee tell me more about youurrr lovvveeee stoorryyy....." insisted Sierra.

"When we first met, I was watering the plants, he had a crush on me but I refused, so he was used to the twisted way. He faked having a heart attack in front of my house. Since my father was a doctor, he diagnosed him. While my dad was checking, he suddenly got up and proposed to me in front of everyone and before I could say anything, my father shooed him away." said Katherine while laughing.

"Awww, Howw swweeetttt...." said Sierra.

"Both of us were compatible, that's why we were a great pair," replied Katherine.

"Theeennn.....?" asked Sierra curious.

"Then he again showed up in front of my house but this time when my dad was not at home. He again proposed. This time I said that my dad is an angry bird, he will never agree."

"Theenn...?" asked Sierra curious.

"He said that 'All I've done in my life is love you, the best gift I've received in my life is your love, and the best thing that has happened to me in my life is you...' Then he even made my dad agree and we were married within a year." said Katherine smiling fondly.

"I also wannt a love storyy worthh tellingg." said Sierra dreaming of her prince charming.

"Baby, love tells us about life, but it should be compatible with the right partner. Both the tires in a car should be balanced or the journey will be troublesome. May God give you a good man too as a life partner." Katherine wished for her granddaughter, whom everyone adored.

WHILE ON THE OTHER HAND....

The screeching sound of tires can be heard all over the place as the fleet of cars came to a halt, making everything stop around them, even the wind. The guards opened the door of the middle of the most luxurious car and a man in his late 20s came out.

Mr. Alec Casey Galitzine is a feared man who is arrogant, haughty but down-to-earth person, hard to believe right. Everyone loves to work with him, but when angered him, he can be more dangerous than any other living creature. He screams perfection and is not someone to be messed up with or he/she will be sighing their death wish.

He wore a fine tailored black Armani suit with matching tie, shoes, a watch with perfectly gelled hair and he completed his looks with glares hiding his bluish grey eyes from the world. He is incredibly attractive with his fine features and sharp jawline, but too bad he is least interested in having flings. He thinks that girls come with a bunch of problems. But he doesn't know that a bigger problem is just going to enter his life to make it beautiful and full of love.

The heavy doors of the church burst open with a force that shattered the sacred silence within. Candles flickered wildly as a tall figure stepped inside, his presence commanding the room like a storm entering a sanctuary. He carried himself with the confidence of someone who had never been denied anything in his life—broad shoulders, sharp features, and eyes that burned with a dangerous certainty. The sacred space that humbled most people seemed to hold no authority over him; instead, it felt as though the very air bent to his will.

He walked down the aisle slowly, ignoring the shocked gazes that followed him. Rules, traditions, even the sanctity of the place meant nothing to him. In his mind, power placed him above them all. His gaze swept across the room with quiet arrogance, as though every person present existed merely to serve his purpose. And when he finally stopped before the altar, there was something unsettling in the calm way he stood there—like a god who had entered a holy place not to pray, but to remind everyone that he believed he ruled over them all.

Ms. Carolyn Harper Kurt is a sweet kind girl to people whom she adores, but a total bitch to anyone who insults her or her loved ones. She is generous, extremely clumsy with a big mouth which often lands her in trouble many times. She is an orphan and doesn't know about her parents or family history and is not so keen to find out about them who sold her and left her to feed herself.

She had the kind of sweetness that made people feel instantly comfortable around her—a warm smile, bright eyes, and a laugh that could soften even the dullest room. But beneath that gentle charm lived a spark of boldness that few expected. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, and when someone crossed a line, her words could turn sharp and precise. There was a playful sass in the way she raised an eyebrow or tilted her head, calmly reminding people exactly where they stood.

Unlike many who stayed quiet to keep peace, she believed respect worked both ways. If someone tried to belittle her or act superior, she had a way of putting them in their place without raising her voice. A single clever remark or confident smile was often enough to leave others speechless. It wasn’t cruelty—just a quiet strength that refused to be overlooked.

But around her brother, that confident sass softened into something much warmer. She adored him fiercely, always standing by his side whether it meant teasing him endlessly or defending him without hesitation. To the rest of the world she might appear bold and fearless, but with him she was simply the girl who laughed freely, trusted completely, and loved with a loyalty that could never be shaken.

She works as an intern baby-sitter in an orphanage cum church opened by Mrs. Kathrine Galitzine. She is beautiful inside out but has a great responsibility in the form of her 6-year-old brother, Ian. She was having fun with children playing hide and seek when....

Alec dashed straight into the church irrespective of the ongoing morning prayer which Carolyn noticed right away, she hated when rich people show their wealth off to bend rules in their favor and she went after that Greek God also known as The Alec Casey Galitzine. She considers that everyone should be treated equally, at least in the eyes of God and his home.

"Father, this upcoming project is very important for our business." said Alec in his deep voice, which could make any girl fall for him.

His voice carried a quiet power that made people listen even when he spoke softly. It was deep and steady, with a calm authority that felt impossible to ignore. Every word rolled out slowly and deliberately, as if he carefully chose what to say and never wasted a single sentence. When he spoke, the room seemed to fall silent, drawn to the weight hidden in his tone.

There was something dangerously smooth about the way his voice sounded—low and controlled, yet edged with a hint of mystery. It could be cold enough to send a chill down someone’s spine when he was angry, but when he lowered it just slightly, it became unexpectedly warm, almost mesmerizing. It was the kind of voice that could command a room, deliver a warning without raising its volume, or whisper something that lingered in someone’s thoughts long after he had left.

"Ok Mr. Alec, you can take the blessings from God almighty. May you be successful in your project." replied the old parson in an extra sweet voice to gain Alec's attention. This exchange angered Carolyn to the core so she dashed straight at him but was stopped midway.

"Excuse me, ma'am, Sir is VIP, you can't go any further." said Alec's chief head guard, Ric, all serious, he stopped her when she was close to Alec.

The moment he stepped into a church, the atmosphere seemed to shift without anyone quite realizing why. It wasn’t just his appearance, but the quiet confidence that surrounded him like an invisible force. People who had been speaking moments before would pause, their attention drawn toward him almost instinctively. His presence carried a natural authority, as though he belonged at the center of every place he entered.

He didn’t need loud gestures or dramatic words to command attention. A simple glance, a slow step forward, or the calm way he held himself was enough to make others aware of him. There was something powerful yet controlled about him—like a storm that remained silent but could unleash its strength at any moment. Even in a crowded room, he stood apart, impossible to overlook.

And yet, there was a deeper mystery within that presence. It felt both magnetic and intimidating at the same time, drawing people closer while warning them to keep their distance. Those who met him often found themselves wondering the same thing—whether the quiet strength in his presence was meant to protect… or to conquer.

"Oh HELLO, Excuse me," shouted Carolyn to Alec, but he never turned. That irked Carolyn more, she couldn't stand no, 'Attitude' she muttered under her breath, which was only heard by Ric as he gave her an amused look and continued to see the expressions on Carolyn's face, which were funny as they were changing every second.

"My attitude is also no less. When I was born, I never talked to anyone for two years." came the reply of the very sarcastic Carolyn. She tends to use sarcasm as a way to taunt rich people Which often landed her in trouble.

"Carolyn, what the hell are you doing? Do you even know who he is?" whispered-yelled the pastor in order to make her shut up.

"What the hell are you doing, Father? These people are crazy that they were attending the prayer and anyone could waltz in just like that interrupting the great peaceful gathering." came a reply from angry Carolyn, who was also a victim of these incidents before.

"Carolyn, the one who has a powerful surname. Everyone should bow to them. You go and take care of the children." answered the father, trying to shoo her away in the name of work.

"You make offerings to Jesus. Could you tell me his real surname? The one who everyone bows down to has no surname. Then why does this last name matter anymore to anyone?" asked Carolyn, her question made something stir within Alec's heart which he ignored. She does sound interesting, but his male ego was so high that he took it as an insult, as he always listened to his brain.

"Please go Carolyn, just do your job." ordered the priest, anger evident in his voice. The father just wanted to send Carolyn away before she face the wrath of the business king himself.

"HELLO mister, you told me how the hell you broke the morning prayer?" asked Carolyn, who royally ignored the father's warning.

Alec had enough of this girl, so he opened his eyes and took a turn to meet her with big brown eyes full of anger staring back at him, his gaze fell on her and something unfamiliar flickered beneath the darkness , something dangerously close to tenderness.

There was no sign of her inner angst in her deep big brown eyes or on her beautiful features. For some reason, her heart did a back flip but she didn't show it to anyone. No one had the guts to stand up to him until now. ' This girl surely lost her mind', thought Alec. He walked to her and took a bundle of cash which was to be donated to the church and slapped it on her face.

"Things which I can afford, I tend to break." Came the haughty reply of the new king. Without waiting for her reply, he turned and went towards his car with the fleet of guards following him while the people there were whispering not so good things about her.

"That arrogant prick," muttered Carolyn, who was heard by her father. It seems like today is not her day.

"Carolyn, enough. Do you even know who he is? He is the grandson of the woman who opened this church and orphanage. The donations given by them are the only means of our earning. He is our employer, be respectful to him." Said the priest more politely trying to make her understand the density of the situation.

She just stayed quiet as she couldn't afford to lose this job either. She thought of something else and an idea came to her cunning mind while a sinister smirk spread across her face.

She galloped towards his car with a baseball bat in her hand which she borrowed from one of the kids in the orphanage. Alec was about to enter the car after instructing his guards about the upcoming inauguration event when he saw that same church girl who didn't know how to respect him coming dangerously towards him. He thought that maybe 'she understood her mistake and came to apologize to him for her rude behavior', so a small smirk made its way on his face.

Their meeting was anything but gentle.

The moment their paths crossed, the air between them shifted with an energy neither of them expected. She stood there with her usual confident posture, chin slightly raised, eyes sharp with curiosity and defiance. He, on the other hand, looked down at her with the calm arrogance of someone used to being obeyed without question. His presence was intimidating, but she refused to let it show. If anything, the slight smirk on her lips only grew stronger.

For him, it was unusual. Most people lowered their gaze when they met his eyes, but she didn’t. Instead, she looked at him as if she were measuring him—unimpressed by his reputation and unafraid of his authority. That single look stirred something unfamiliar inside him, a mix of irritation, intrigue and something tender maybe. Meanwhile, she could sense the power he carried in the quiet way he stood, but rather than backing down, it made her curiosity sharper.

She had the same smirk plastered on her face and suddenly she swung the bat which she was hiding and it hit directly on the windshield of Alec's car, making him flinch a little bit. Then she came near him and slapped the same bundle of notes on his face, looking straight into his eyes and said," Things which I can afford, I tend to break them too."

Their words were simple, yet every sentence carried a hidden challenge. When he spoke, his voice was low and commanding, expecting compliance. But her reply came with effortless sass, wrapped in a sweet smile that somehow made her defiance even more striking. For the first time in a long while, the arrogant man felt someone had stepped into his world without fear—while she realized that behind his cold confidence stood a man far more dangerous than she had imagined. And in that brief, charged moment, both unknowingly understood one thing: this meeting was only the beginning of a storm neither of them would easily escape.

And with that she turned around and walked away swaying her hips for extra dramatic effect, giving Alec a small sweet innocent smile. This incident not only left Alec stunned, but his guards were shocked and confused about how to handle the raging bull as their 'boss'. Ric was behind Alec by a few steps, who was having a hard time controlling his laughter and thought 'Finally, Alec found someone of his own kind, a perfect match for him'.

Ric's family had been with Galitzine's for generations and Ric grew up with the three naughty Galitzine brothers who were now defined with perfection, so he knew Alec quite well. Suddenly, Alec's phone rang, his mom's name flashed.

"Where are you, Alec? Didn't I tell you that you should reach the venue before the inauguration? You should be there. Now come here asap." Came the strong voice of Carina. Alec was already angry and his mother's commanding voice just heightened it. He didn't like to take orders, he took the nearest thing which happened to be the same bat and thrashed his own car mercilessly. He also took his phone and smashed it into the wall nearby, breaking it into a million pieces but still his anger seemed to only intensify.

"Ric, bring me a new phone and a new car, NOW." Shouted Alec at the peak of his anger, the first time someone left him speechless. His male ego did not accept it at all. He wanted to strangle her with his own hands.

His anger was not loud or reckless—it was far more dangerous than that. When fury touched him, the room seemed to grow colder rather than chaotic. His jaw tightened slightly, and his dark eyes hardened with a sharp, burning intensity. He rarely raised his voice; instead, he spoke in a calm tone that carried far more threat than shouting ever could. People around him could feel the tension in the air, like the quiet moment before a storm finally breaks.

What made his anger truly unsettling was the control he held over it. He didn’t lash out impulsively. Instead, he stood still, his gaze fixed on the person who had crossed him, as if silently deciding their fate. His silence alone was enough to make others uneasy, because everyone knew that when his patience ended, the consequences would follow without mercy.

Yet beneath that cold fury lived the reason people feared him so deeply—his power to act on it. He didn’t make empty threats or dramatic displays; when he was angry, he simply made decisions that changed everything. And that calm, controlled wrath was far more terrifying than any outburst could ever be.
